What is failure and when do we feel we have failed? Isn’t it when we do something incorrectly or when we don’t get the desired results that we expected? Failure is a part of everyone’s life and yet we all hate it and try to run away from it. Failure has such a negative meaning attached to itself that nobody wants it, yet we all experience it.

What if we could open our minds a little bit and look at it the way it actually is? Failure is often experienced when we are doing/learning something new. And if we look at history of our own lives, we always failed from the time we started learning to walk, to speak, to perceive the world, etc.

Failure has been such an important part of learning and still we have no acceptance towards it. The only reason is fear. We are scared to fail because we have been taught throughout our lives (Thanks to our examination system) that failure is bad. We were judged when we failed in exams or when we didn’t do things perfectly. I know it is not our fault to be scared of failures, however, we do have a choice to look at it the way it actually is. We can assign a new meaning to this term called “Failure” and embrace it. We can call it “Learning” because it actually is a part of learning, and we all know that.

I know it’s difficult to change our belief system, but it is possible if we understand the true meaning of it. Ask yourself if failure was a part of your learning process and if the answer is yes, you know your own truth about failures. We seldom learn in the times of achievements; we only learn through failures. Hard times are our push buttons to learnings and they are just as important as good times are. It is true that life is a complete cycle of learning and if you ever stop learning, you will fail and you will be pushed to learn again :)

So why not learn to embrace our learnings from failures and celebrate them as your growth factor. This would not just empower us but also our upcoming generation because then, failures will be celebrated rather than judged.

Accept your failures, learn from them and move on because without failure there is no success!

Failure = Learning
